Since her first-grade days, Emily Kim has been captivated by the enchanting world of music, weaving her melodies with the delicate strings of her beloved violin. For eight years, she has been an integral part of her county’s orchestra, Youth Music Monterey, where her musical journey has been guided by the expert hands of Mr. Farkhad Khudyev, the dedicated YMMC Conductor. Under his patient tutelage and unwavering passion, Emily has blossomed into a talented musician, constantly inspired to reach new heights.

Emily’s role as the 1st violinist in the YMMC youth orchestras since 2018 is a testament to her dedication and skill. Her musical prowess extends beyond the orchestra, as she also graces the Carmel River Elementary School Band with her clarinet melodies, participates in the School Orchestra with her cherished violin, and selflessly volunteers her musical talents to the school band. In the summer of 2019, Emily’s musical prowess earned her a coveted spot at The Young Artists Showcase concert at the prestigious Carmel Bach Festival, where she shared the stage with her friend Elise Yi.

Regionally, she stands out as an essential member of the Central Coast Sectional (CCS) Honor Orchestra, embracing the role of concertmaster with grace and leadership. Always eager to support her fellow musicians, Emily ensures a positive rehearsal environment by lending her expertise in tackling challenging musical passages. Throughout her musical journey, Emily has left an indelible mark in various music competitions and performances, earning numerous awards and accolades for her exceptional contributions to the world of music. Her talent shines brightly, impressing both judges and audiences alike.

In 2023, Emily expanded her horizons by participating in the California Orchestra Directors Association (CODA) event at Stanford University. This immersive experience allowed her to learn new skills, establish valuable connections within the industry, and gain exposure that further fueled her passion for music.

Looking ahead, Emily’s musical journey is poised to reach new heights as she prepares to perform at the illustrious Carnegie Hall in New York. Her victory in the “Golden Classical Music Awards” International Competition has earned her the honor of gracing this iconic stage, an experience she anticipates with immense gratitude and excitement. Emily acknowledges this upcoming performance as a defining moment in her musical career, a chance to share her profound love of music with a broader audience on a grand stage that will undoubtedly etch itself into the annals of her musical legacy.

Beyond the world of music, Emily is a multifaceted individual. She finds joy in arts, ballets, and travel, and her interests extend to swimming, biking, making slime, and indulging in the company of playful cats.
